Meeting Practical Needs

By Natalie Barentson

“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” James 2:14-16

How can we share the Gospel with refugees and help them, if we don’t meet their practical needs?  Those who have fled their home country of Ukraine may lack the necessary services we take for granted—such as the dentist.

One of our Board of Directors secured a grant through the Indiana Dental Society, meaning we can now take Ukrainian refugees to the dentist if they need care.  This past week, we were able to help a young girl named Vika, who lives in a shelter in Romania.  You can see pictures of her visit to the dentist below.

As needs arise for these refugees, they are being met thanks to you and this generous grant. Thank you for your continued support and prayers for our new friends who have fled Ukraine.
