First Graduation

By Yohana Dioniz

With hearts full of gratitude, we bring you the joyful news of how your unwavering commitment through prayer, financial gifts, and spreading our story has transformed lives. Because of your generosity and belief in our mission in Tanzania, we have just celebrated an unforgettable milestone: The first graduation ceremony for our children who have completed their primary education. Words cannot fully capture the joy and pride we experienced on that beautiful day.

Just over a year ago, on January 9th, 2023, Eternal Pre and Primary School opened its doors with only 89 students,10 dedicated teachers, and 5 support staff. Today, by the grace of God and your continued support, we now nurture 495 students, guided by 23 teachers and 13 support staff. Our pioneering class of 7th graders began their journey with 16 students. By the time of graduation, that number grew to 21 students, with 15 girls and 6 boys!

This journey has been nothing short of a miracle, and every step was fueled by the vision we set out to achieve. At the start, our goals were ambitious but clear:

  • To excel in academics and shape bright futures

  • To build a modern library that would open a world of knowledge to our children

  • To establish a computer lab, empowering our students to navigate the digital age

  • To promote participation in both school and regional sports

  • To raise students who are not only disciplined but kind and respectful

  • To foster a strong partnership between staff and parents, united in nurturing these young minds

  • To construct a perimeter fence for the safety and security of our children

Today, we stand in awe of what has been accomplished, and we can proudly say that your faith in us was not in vain:

Our academic performance has been extraordinary. In the regional 7th-grade mock exams, our school ranked 5th and 3rd in two other exams, competing against 86 schools in Tabora Municipality. For our 4th graders, we achieved an impressive 3rd place out of 93 schools in the region. We’ve provided an excellent education, from early childhood through primary school, instilling both knowledge and character. Thanks to your generous donations, our classrooms are now equipped with the books and resources needed for effective learning.

In sports, our students shine. We have successfully participated in inter-school and regional competitions, with some of our children proudly representing us on the regional athletics team. We are thankful for those participating in Race for Hope next weekend to help raise funds for sports fields on our school grounds!

We are particularly proud of the discipline our students display, both in school and at home. Their parents regularly express how grateful they are for the positive transformation they’ve witnessed in their children.

Despite these incredible achievements, there are still areas where we seek your continued prayers and support:

We are in urgent need of a computer lab. In this digital age, the absence of computers leaves our students at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to gain the technological skills they need to compete in today’s world. Establishing a computer lab would provide our children with the tools to embrace technology and better prepare for the future.

We are in need of school buses. Because of this some parents are forced to rely on unsafe motorcycle taxis to bring their children to school. This is a risk we are eager to eliminate for the safety of our precious students.

Our school remains without a perimeter fence, which is crucial for ensuring the safety of our children during school hours.

We ask that you continue to stand with us in prayer, trusting that God will provide the resources needed to address these pressing challenges.

We cannot express enough how deeply grateful we are to everyone who has believed in our vision and contributed to bringing our vision to life. Your faith in us has made all the difference. Special thanks go out to the leadership of Eternal Families, the school management, the head teacher, our dedicated teachers, and the hardworking staff, whose passion and teamwork have ensured that our children grow spiritually, morally, and intellectually.

Finally, to you, our beloved supporter, thank you for your prayers and support for our children, students, and school. Because of your faithfulness, our 7th graders have completed their exams, and we are hopeful that their results will reflect the hard work and dedication they’ve put in.

Your contributions have touched lives in ways words cannot describe.

Together, we are not just building a school, we are building futures and the impact of your kindness will last for generations.

With profound gratitude and blessings,
